Honestly, if I had no one else around to do it, I would (1) allow you or a stranger to apply the sunscreen, but (2) if I was not tanning with the bikini untied already, then it would be inappropriate for YOU to undo it. Especially without asking or letting me know in advance.
If that was someone else's intention, I'm sure they would ask for you to do that.

No. For one, I like to be modest and don't like guys other than my husband touching me. For two, I have freakishly flexible arms and can get my back myself for the most part. For three, I like have my husband put lotion and so forth on my back even though I can reach, just because I like to feel him touching my skin.
