I watch those shows all the time so I can make fun of them on IMDb. Those people are so unbelievably airheaded that they make Tara Reid look like a Rhodes Scholar.
From a feminist perspective, the girls are obsessed with guys, their looks, and gossiping about each other. They're only interested in college because it gets them away from their parents and into a new party scene. I have yet to see any of them read a book.

i dont watch them..so i dont care..
stuff like that holds no interest for me.
in fact i barely even watch tv. im only interested in mostly anime a little non anime and a few cooking shows. i spend maybe a total of anywhere between 1 to 3 maybe 4 hours a day of watching television. otherwise i find other things to do with my time. such as play video games, workout, or go walking if i want among other things.
if i want to watch " reality" id watch the news...it gets no more real than that.

I haven't really watched any of these shows that much but for the first three you mentioned, the actors are essentially eye candy. They don't seem to have any real acting ability to speak of. Now, for the one about Orange County, those women are scary in how they are trying to compete with their daughters. They dress like them and undergo plastic surgery to try to look like them. I think these are really sad people and they live such shallow and superficial lives.

I don't have a television. But, I have seen enough of it and Bollywood and Hollywood stuff to understand your question. Television is commercialism / consumerism at its worst and turns people's brains into tapioca pudding. People should not participate in commercial television. It breeds superficiality, greed, desire for instant gratification, gluttony and submission. It teaches people to be good little consumer sheep. But, then again, God would not have made them sheep if He did not want them sheared.

What - are those current television shows? Are you sure they aren't subdivisions? Seriously: they sound about as interesting as the idiot starlets who always get into trouble and distract from vital, fast breaking news events, like the weather. "Felony stupid" should be a chargeable offense, but then the jails would overflow with public idiots.

... And you have just discovered why I don't watch much TV.
I won't support that kind of idiocy by giving it ratings. TV really has a pretty sad portrayl of both men AND women... and anyone of either gender with any dignity should feel kind of embarrased by the crap on TV that is supposed to represent "real people."
