I'm currently working on a project of great consequence, and I find it crucial that I get into contact with children living in war-torn nations, namely the Middle East, South America, and Africa. If possible, I would like to collect accounts of the children's facing war, preferebly told in their own words.

So far, I have gotten into contact with multiple Palestinian children and a few Iraqi ones, but I'm having difficulty locating an organization or individual who can help me contact children and families in other parts of the world.

Do you know of any organizations, government agencies, non-profit groups, aid organizations, or individuals who may be able to help me? What steps can I take that would lead me in the right direction?

Thanks.

There are many organizations that deal with children in this vulnerable group. These are some of them, and I'm sure there are many more:

http://www.warchild.org - this is an international program helping the war affected children

http://www.invisiblechildren.com - improves the quality of life for war affected children by providing access to quality education, etc.

http://www.womenscommission.org - for women&children from war zones

http://www.nctsnet.org - this is the National Child Traumatic Stress Network; go to Types of Trauma and look for War, or to Resources and find the Refugee&War Zone Trauma.

http://www.ChangingthePresent.org - also offers some data for your project.

Maybe you can contact them all and wait for their replies; I'm sure somebody will help you with your project. Good luck.
