You always talk about women being "empowered." Do you view a woman who explicitly uses sex appeal to get ahead in her career as "empowering" herself?

"Explicitly?" No.

An attractive woman's beauty is a source of power, but also the source of much insecurity. A woman who relies on her sex appeal as the only source of power, always worries that her power is waning, there will always be someone more attractive than her and at some point, she can no longer attract attention for her appearance--leaving her completely powerless. Also, being worshiped for one's appearance is unsatisfying and lonely in the long-run. Some men are intimidated, others are drawn in, but not for the sake of conversation--the beauty suffers from isolation. And that is not exactly my definition of being empowered. But don't forget physical attraction is a great tool to use in combination with other tools for power.

And no one can explicitly rely on appearance for career advancement. That's just a myth. It can be an advantage but not enough to fulfill all the requirements for professional achievement.

This might be the basest topic I've ever responded to. Essentially you're presenting the whole "if everyone has a gun it's like no one has a gun and then everyones happy" scenario, only diluted with misogynistic ridiculousness and very hardly cogent. If you believe that feminism is the backlash of ugly women against pretty ones, then you are very misinformed. You know how when you look into a mirror, you think about your reflection? Feminism isn't about the reflection itself, it's about the awareness of its existence. In other words, it's about the mind, not the body. And women with sex appeal don't get what they want any more often than women with hunchbacks. Women are brilliant because they're hardly ever satisfied. That goes for blonde big breasted ones too.

They're empowered, but it's not something to be proud of. Moreover, I should be acknowledged, too. My ex (an extremely misled feminist) said that a woman that uses the same tools of oppression men use against women on men is "creative."

Wow, its amazing reading the responses. It is definatly empowering her capabilities yes.

Men are quite simple, we have a 'persistant' noticeable measure of attraction to 'all' Women, its our lustometer and it goes + or -.

+ readings makes a man feel happy, wheras a - makes us feel a little wierd. A women who isnt ugly, and acknowledges this reality, is only basically spreading happiness if she uses her sex appeal.

Her behaviour can definatly change the lustometer reading. Its an art form in itself but has risks as some men are not 100% in the brain to know the difference between being sexy and trying to communicate non-verbally.

Interesting question. I guess I would have to say yes, but I don't think she will get as far ahead if she only relies upon that. If she is clever enough to be so self aware, she can manipulate her "power" and then she best be able to back up the attention with her brain power if she is going to get ahead. Otherwise, she will end up looking foolish for flinging her hair around, and most mature women are aware of how far they can or cannot get with that kind of power to attract attention.
And women who don't have that kind of "power" to attract often attack and belittle those that do. Some of the most successful women I have met in the business world are very attractive, but also very smart. Its not their fault that they are beautiful.

An empowered woman refuses to use her looks to get ahead in a field that requires a brain. A woman who doesn't refuse to do this is just desperate.

This is a simple answerer, anyone who uses any for of sex to gain anything is what is called a Harlett. You see a the difference between a Harlett technically is that a whore gives it out freely, and a harlett gives it out for there personal gain, weather monetary or personally.

More like whoring herself out and permitting herself to be used and viewed as an object or piece of meat.

Then again, this is the same bunch who calls the 40-hour-a-week grind "liberation," go figure.

These answers disturb me. A woman can have sex appeal AND a brilliant mind at the same time. And when she does and she knows how to use 'em-watch out!! Now that's empowering to me.

No No No !
Girls learn from an early age that they have a natural charm.

I used to send my girlfriend to buy the weed we smoked simply because she got a bigger bit than I did, because she was a stunner and could use her charm to her advantage this dumb guy gave her the best deal in town trying to get with her.
If only he knew he was being played like a guitar
