Do they come out and lay on the pavement the same way as earthworms? I want to go jogging, but I don't know if it's safe since its raining, and there's rattlesnakes around the trails.

They don't much care about rain one way or another. What they care about is the temperature. Usually when it rains its colder, so they would seek warmth underground, under rocks where its dry and warmer.

They probably go under logs or rocks or something. Pavement's an unnatural surface for snakes so I doubt they'd like to lay on the paventment. Besides, if you see a snake on the pavement, just go the other way.

No, they don't come out like earthworms. They can stand the wet soil, earthworms can't.
