I know I'm not the only one getting crap from the guys.

1) What do you do to overcome the prejudice?
2) Have you ever been denied a job at a gaming store?
3) (Most importantly)...What do you play?!

1) I found the best way is just to prove it to them!...
3) I play Wolfenstein, Quake 4, Doom 3, Age of Mythology, Rise of Nations, Mario (all), Zelda (all), Halo, Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, Counterstrike: Source, Command and Conquer: Zero Hour, and a ton more!

1) I actually don't face too much prejudice. And if the prejudice is coming from someone close to you, challenge them to a game.
2) I've never tried for a job at a gaming store, but I would think that the gaming store is required by law to follow equal opportunity rules.
3) I play Nintendo, mostly (DS, Gamecube, occasionally SNES), but I also have a Ps1. I've also played some of the most popular MMORPGs out there (Runescape, World of Warcraft, Maplestory, etc.)
My favorite franchises? Harvest Moon, The Sims, etc.
Currently Playing: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Luckily for me, all my guy friends think it's great that I'm a cute & fun gamergirl. So I don't suffer any prejudice at all, thank goodness.

I've never applied, but I hope to sometime work in the gaming industry since I am majoring in Computer science & graphic design.

3. I love RPG's (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Dark Cloud 2
I love action/adventure - God of war, Resident Evil 4, Shadow of the Colossus, Devil May Cry 3, Ico, Ratchet & Clank, & a few others.

I must admit that i don't generally tell our friends that i, too play video games. The boys (all about 30ish)will often sit around and chat about they games they play or they will come over for an xbox360 session but i never put my hand up to admit that i actuially play. So i am avoiding prejudice by denying i even play!
I use xbox260 (when the silly thing is working - it is being sent off for its second under warranty repair in 6 months since we bought it). Call of Duty and Oblivion mainly and Halo3 when it comes out i expect!
I also play Sims on the computer and sometimes FIFA Club Manager.
Never tried (or wanted ) to get a job in a game store so can't help you with that one. Our local store does have two girls working in it though (Victoria, australia).

1) I play against them and kick their asses. Or, have conversations with them about games, consoles, and the industry that demonstrates my knowledge.
2) I've never tried, but I see lots of girls working at the game stores around here.
3) Almost everything.
