I used to love this team. What the hell happened? They've lost their way. Signing over-the-hill free agents. Enabling steriod abusers. Is this ship ever gonna right itself? I root for Boston now.

the once proud orioles have taken a page out of the cubs mismanagement books.. they run around like chickens with their heads cut off... they will need to do what detroit, cleveland, milwaukee, and kansas city do. they need to dump the dumb contracts, hire good scouts, sign and develop good prospects and then they will be good again. big money and big free agents dont bring many championships (see yankees recent history) or make team chemistry.. bringing in players who have proven themselves and come up the ranks together, win together...milwaukee contended this year, cleveland is going to the series, detroit went last year and kansas city is getting close..look at what the rockies are doing this year, and what the yankees are not.....

After traveling to Cuba and allowing the Cubans to play an exhibition game in Baltimore back in 1999, the O's have been in the dumps. Just as the Red Sox had a 86 year curse, the O's curse has already lasted a decade.

When the O's dominated, the Red Sox and Yankees were at the bottom, most of the time.

With the Red Sox and Yankees faltering and teams like the Rockies and Indians strengthening, it's only time for the O's. Mr. Angelos does not wish to end his historic career as a perennial loser and he's entrusted Andy McPhail to reverse the team's fortunes, which will happen.

Enabling steroid abusers? LOL. Every team in MLB and every other professional sport has done that! The Orioles stink because they have a bad owner. End of story. But if you are from Baltimore and have jumped on the trendy Red Sox bandwagon just because they've had more success over the past few years, shame on you. You could at least pick an NL team.

They have been badly mismanaged over the past decade. It seems like they are always "a few years away from being a few years away." I am a Phillies fan myself, and that's how the Phils were for a long time. Sorry to hear you jumped ship, though. Just don't jump back when the O's finally start winning again, whenever that may be.

They can't compete with the Yanks and BoSox's pay rolls and they have to have a better record than one of them to even have a shot to get into the post season. Red Sox and Yankees are almost a lock to win the AL Wildcard, and AL East. They will not make the playoffs without coughing up the cash. Since, money doesn't grow on trees the upcoming seasons are looking too bright for the Orioles.

The Red Sox are going to win this night, however there is no desire of catching up with the Yankees or Rays any more. The Sox had to sweep the sequence this beyond weekend, and wasting it to Tampa was once the final nail within the coffin. *

Boston is part of the reason Baltimore quit competing. They just cant spend that kinda money. Its why Boston and New york make the playoffs almost every year but get eliminated. There record is bloated by beating on there own division.

They're not going to spend the kind of money they need to to compete with the drunken sailors running the Red Sux and Yankees (who may have waste $360 M this year to watch the Indians win the AL).

That, and Angelos deserves to have his teams get the crap kicked out of them for years for all of the whining they did re: the Nationals moving to Washington.

They do have one good prospect drafted from Georgia Tech this year. His name is Matt Weiters, c-1b. He's playing winter ball in Hawaii now. he is going to be really good.

Mainly ownership. DeAngelos is a bum!

The franchise needs to go back to St. Louis, where they belong.
