I noticed most pictures of touristic places are submitted by volunteers. How I go about submitting my pictures?

You don't directly. You create a FREE account on www.panoramio.com then upload some photos.
Link them to a map location in their website and the later they MIGHT appears. I have a load of pics on there, but only about 35% are used on google earth. There is an element of manual selection in it.

go to www.flickr.com and make an account, and when doing that, you can add photos, and then there will be a map (google earth) and you can select where each photo was taken. further instructions will be displayed along the way. hope i helped, good luck, and God Bless!
