Interesting question, you have to bear in mind the MIG-21 is no longer made so you're bf is going to have to go down the second hand route. He obviously knows his stuff though as the MIG-21 is the most produced supersonic jet aircraft of all time and the most produced combat aircraft since WWII so there are plenty about. Budget from around $30,000 upwards. Bear in mind this kind of money isn't going to get you a runner but it's a start for a budding mechanic. About $62,000 will get him a decent example

Now as for 'going' in the MIG-21 regardless of speed you're bf is going to struggle. They were not fitted with toilets and I know of no after market maker for such a thing. If he's handy with a saw and spanner he could try retrofitting a toilet unit intended for the larger MIG-25 as Armitage Shanks made just such a unit from 1985-1986 (a short production run but there was not much call for it apparently!)

Hope this helps.

It would be the Russian MiG-25 Foxbat, once tracked at Mach 3.2. The Guinness Book of World records lists the Foxbat as the worlds fastest combat aircraft. Technically speaking, the Foxbat is an interceptor. For eagle6014, there never was an F-15 that exceeded Mach 3!

the only way I see him to own one is a model plane. that plane would cost him more than he would ever see in his life time unless he win a huge lottery jackpot. the cost to keep it up and flying along would sit him back for $500,000 and the fuel that plane drink (used) $2,500.00 a gallon. the fuel capacity is 110 gallon. tell him to dream on...
