Because people with godly advice usually come off as judging or with a 'holier than thou' attitude. I think that those who are religious should follow their beliefs, Christianity and most other religions are supposed to be based on love right, give advice with respect and tolerance and if it's not advice that someone is looking for keep your opinions to yourself while offering loving support. What would Jesus do? Isn't that the slogan? Judgement only makes people feel bad about themselves and pushes them further away. It's one reason that hardcore evangelism doesn't work. Most seem to do it to feel better about themselves instead of for the betterment of fellow men or women.

Because such advice is useless, and a waste of everybody's time. Family relations are real, not a fantasy.

Defensive because they are not looking to be flamed, rather they are looking for a virtual hug. The right hug that comes along gets the best answer, whether it is the truth or not.

Sin feels good to them and makes them feel powerful, for you to say, they need help and get away from sin. Its like taking them off there throne, that they don't even know there on. They think the man above can do nothing. but they haven't seen anything yet have they. Just wait for the trails and tribulations to come on hard. Then they will understand tat we wanted to help them and give them someing, not take something away.People just don't know what he can do.

Keep up the good work no matter what they say....

Because people hate being preached to. Personal beliefs are just that....personal. It would be different if people ASKED for spiritual guidance. If they want that, ask a priest or a pastor. I sure wouldn't want spiritual advice from a layman. No offense.

Because people are afraid of turning over their life to God. They can't possibly understand the concept of doing that because they're too busy trying to control their lives.....in reality---they have no control---hence all the troubles that they worry about day in and day out.
Turn them over to the Father, you'll sleep better and be more relaxed.

If they didn't ask, or feel threatened, or if you do it in an "in-you-face" sort of way. But in a way, it does seem that way. I mean, everyone is saying "accept and tolerate everyone" yet religion is one of the least tolerated topics. Best is to do everything with tact.

people would rather believe in nothing than a god who is all seeing all knowing. I pity those people who shut out the one and only one that can truelly help them.
