Is there anyway for the country to accept USF as #1? Even IF, big IF, they win out? Or does everyone think they are second tier no matter what they do?

USF is not like boise state last year. They already beat the no 4 team in the country and they look damn good. I think that if you put them on the field with Ohio state they would crush them. LSU is the best team in the nation right now. However they do have a loss. If Oregon goes undefeated in the Pac 10 and manages to beat off USC, and Arizona state they deserve to be in the championship game over LSU because their only loss came at the hands of the NO 6 team in the nation not NO 17. The Pac 10 is no powder puff conference, the Vols lost to Cal (SEC) and nebraska fell to USC, not to mention the whooping Oregon put on Michigan who will certainly give Ohio State a run for their money.

We need to do away with the BCS too much bias, politics, and why should a computer decide who gets to play who for a championship?

If the unlikely situation of a USF win, OSU loss and LSU loss were to occur this weekend, I don't see how USF wouldn't be #1 in the polls because they definitely would deserve it. Undefeated. Beat West Virginia, Auburn and now Rutgers. This doesn't seem like second tier team to me.

I think Ohio State will beat Michigan State by 3 touch downs. OSU has one of the top defenses in the nation, and Michigan State cannot stop Ohio State from scoring.

I think the best chances for Ohio State to lose will be Oct 27th against Penn State, and the last game of the season against Michigan.

They should be #1 in that case. However, television commentators will start rambling stuff about "SEC speed" or something else in order to make sure the voters vote for a team that will bring better television ratings. Just as CBS's announcers managed to talk Florida into the title game last year over Michigan, somehow announcers will manage to talk a higher-profile team into the national title game, which is what happens when you have a sport with a national title decided by voters.

I think the whole big east is a question mark ever since miami and va. tech left. this isn't like a long time mid-major conference struggling for respectability. the big problem they have is no one can go clean in that conference. it's hard to judge any of them right now until they play some more quality non-conference opponents and qualify for higher seeding in the bcs. I would like to see so. florida win out if only to see how they would stack up against the oklahomas and uscs of the world.

They would be number 1 on my rankings. They win out, I assume they go to the BCS, so they would be number 1.

USF should be #1 if that occurs.

OU will probably pick up some first place votes as well.
