I know it doesn't have anything to do with you, but I do not like the spelling of Jaison or Josheph. I do like Jayson, like you want to use. Jayson James is not bad. He could be called Jamie or JJ if you want him to be different than your friend's son. Some other suggestions are:
Mason James(has similar sound to it)
Kael Matthew
Jackson(Jack) Alexander
Evander(Evan) Michael

I think as long as your friend knows that you're not trying to have a name similar to hers it's okay for you to choose Jayson James. You both have different spellings of Jason which is a good thing. I personally like Jason Kiel better than Jayson James. It's just something about the whole double J thing that doesnt work for me. Good luck in choosing a name.

I think a lot of people have had this problem. I guess I'd be upset if someone "copied" me, but if you love the name too, you can't really help that! Here are some alternatives to Jayson anyway:
Jayden
Justin
Jordan
Jackson
Jasper
Jett
Jesse

If you re-arranged the first and middle names, James Jayson sounds really nice too!

Keil is a bit unusual, but when I first saw it I thought it just sounded cool. Keilor is cute too.

This very important because your son will have to live with name all his life, so I wouldn't worry about the friend. I like the James middle name, better than Kiel. Researchers say that children with odd names do not do as well in school or in life. I would name him a name that would suit him as President, or teacher, or doctor, or after a beloved grandfather or someone he can greatly admire. I named my son Joseph after Joseph in the old Testament, a man of integrity.

I like Jayson James.
I don't think that it matters if your friend names her son Jayson as well. You name your son what you want to name him!
Good luck!!!

There is no rule that I know of that states you can't name your baby the same name as your friend.
If you like Jason then name him that .

Jason Joseph ( how it should be spelled)
Jayson James ( Jason James)
Are two different names!

i love Elliot plenty. it isn't only a dogs's call. Elliot Jasper is sweet-looking and intensely favourite. I desire the finished call - Elliot - regardless of the truth that the nick names aren't any more only for dogs; they are cool. Many dogs are noted as very pleasing names; dogs might want to be named something beautiful and relaxing...regardless of the truth that likely no longer Frederick James. The remark is easily no longer offensive only a reaction from older human beings to the fashionable 'non James' decision of brand call, i imagine.

You can name your son whatever you want to, a real friend would not get angry over a name. Other names that are great as well are Jackson, Gavin, Jordon to name a few!

Who's baby will be born first? If so, you have dibs on the name. If she really wants her son to be named Jason, then she'll still name him Jason.
