I just moved into a house with the old stand up radiator heating and they just turned on. The one in my room is really hot on one side of it and is making noise; it sounds like liquid is moving through it. Is this normal?? sorry im kinda freaking out..

Normally, this is caused by air in the system. You need to bleed the system. There may be bleeder valves on each radiator to do this.
