Agree. Empire, money, ego, spite are other reasons war can be waged.

I don't know if there will always be wars, but just because we removed religion doesn't mean that the wars would go away
take the cold war, and the veitnam war, both were motevated by political ideals rather than religion
as long as people have diffrences and are unable to put themselves in others position there will be war

Agree, because IMO wars are a result of people's intolerance of others differing beliefs, whether it's religion or otherwise. Until we can all learn to accept each other with our differences, there will be war. What a shame.

The first wars fought were over land and natural resources, and so were several modern wars, so yes, there will always be war even without religion.

Agree. I would say that most wars are about economics or power, and use religion as a false justification for the war.

For you U2 fans:

"And so we are told this is the Golden Age.
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage."

it depends on where you are in the world.

if you live in a region where religion is the only reason wars are waged, e.g. the Middle East, and you take religion out of the equation, poof! no more war.

if you live in America and keep electing people from within a capitalist system that makes huge profits from war, it wouldn't matter if Jesus Christ himself sailed down from the heavens arm in arm with Buddha and Mohammad, the warmongers will find a reason.

I agree. Although religion is a big war-starter, people would war with or without it. They would find another reason. It all boils down to beliefs
