Depends on the situation and the stranger. If they look like a gangster I normaly run away in the direction I was coming from in hopes that they wont take my G moneys... But if they not lookn like a beat down I might smile and raise my hand in good show of hello. But the thing to remember is when traveling to a strange land always use your normal greeting from the land that you come from because it will be least offencive to the strangers then if you adopt the customs they have. Because they will know your not a posser and will not need to beat you down hommie G stylez.

There are no strangers in this world. Everyone of us is Someone and No one at the same time. and if you say hi, nod you hand , of wave you are a stranger no more. Oh and by the way if you ask a question on yahoo answers then you have said hello to the world and every body knows you now.

I smile but do not often make eye contact as it not considered polite in my culture to establish eye contact with a stranger

I always smile and say a cheerful "Hi." I'm 6'5" tall and my height can be intimidating, so it's important to be a bit folksy so as to set others at ease. I also believe that it is important to break down barriers between people. Why would you not be friendly - FEAR?

Well, I am paranoid anyways...so if there's not alot of people around I like speed up...but if there are people, I smile and might say "hi" or excuse me"..but that's just me being paranoid!

I always smile and say something like "excuse me" if I am in the way, etc. I treat people the way I want to be treated. Regardless of their skin color or what they look like.
