I'm sorry, I didn't mean how long should each charge last. I mean how long should the life of the actual battery be. I'm looking for months, or years, etc. Thank you all.

Just like other products--some are destined to be a 'lemon' and others out-live their warranty. Unfortunately, there is no true way of determining which battery will actually give you the longer use. For example, we purchased three identical phones at the same time and one of them had a bad cell in the battery (disallowing less recharge time). Usually, you would be able to exchange the battery for a new one at no charge--check your contract warranty.

I recommend researching a few products and read the consumer comments to determine which product would better fulfill your requirements.

In general, the life of a regularly used battery is between 300 and 500 charge/ discharge cycles. Depending on the battery, this translates into a 1-to-2 year time-frame. As a battery nears the end of it's productive life (typically considered 50% of its original capacity), the talk and stand-by times of the battery will be noticeably shorter. It is interesting to note that a Lithium-ion battery will, over it's useful lifetime, maintain more of a full capacity charge and then "die" rather suddenly; a NiMH battery will demonstrate a more gradual decline in performance as it nears the end of it's productive life.

change the new phone after 1 or 2 year contract ( at the end of 1 or 2 year just go to get another new phone for free with same number ) .
