Okay, okay... I know we actually have hundreds and hundreds of political parties in the USA. But when will there be congress reps from other parties, and a third candidate from the same third party on more than a few Presidential elections?

There are several problems with this.

One, we have issues. There are just so many sides to an 'issue'... using taxes as an example: Left says 'higher taxes' and the Right says 'Lower taxes'.. what will a third party stance be? Now, Left and Right are going to stand pretty close before election---so as not to distance voters. But a third party?

And then there is Electoral Votes. And there is the question of getting on ballots. And then there is Money. So, the third party needs tons of money, to catch up with the other two, then they might get on a ballot and they MIGHT get one or two electoral votes. Ross Perot got on ballots. Lyndon LaRouche was on ballots.. and I think Perot actually won an Electoral Vote or two...

Now, I doubt it will ever happen...but then, a dark horse may come galloping out from the forest of politicians with an 'new idea'.... could happen, I guess!

It would take a major issue to dominate the political scene and maybe more than one issue that neither party wants to deal with. ( Like slavery ) in the mid 1800s.
A third party picks it up and runs with it is what it would take. Then it would be how well that party could organize.

There must be an alternative party that will challenge the domination of the two party system in order that the people will have more choices for the good of the country.
