but it looks clear/white and transluenct like plastic. it reflects like blue and purple. what is this? i've been looking everywhere for it.

Your example is pressed glass with specific coloration. If your stone looks like that, It could well be moonstone, sometimes called water opals.You need to test the hardness of the stone. Check a simple field guide to rocks for this. If you have the equipment, you could check the specific gravity, refraction index and other tests that professionals use. True opals have sheets of fractures, differing minerals, and structures within them that make the flares of color we see.

It looks like synthetic opal to me. Fiber optic stones can also have a similar look.
