Two people in my class were having a discussion about this animal that actually exists. It's a horse, but it has a horn. They said it wasn't a unicorn, but it went by a different name. What is that name again? If you know...

The only mammal living at this time with a single spiral horn extending from its forehead is the Narwhale. It's thought that Narwhale horns are solid, "you're holding the spiral horn in your hands" evidence that has been used to back the legend of the Unicorn.

There is no such animal. The closest you could come to a unicorn these days would be an oryx.

The oryx is an antelope with two long, thin horns projecting from its forehead. Some have suggested that seen from the side and from a distance, the oryx looks something like a horse with a single horn (although the 'horn' projects backward, not forward as in the classic unicorn).

An example of an extinct animal slightly resembling a unicorn would be the Elasmotherium.

Elasmotherium ("Thin-Plate Beast") was a genus of giant rhinoceri which stood, on average, two meters (7 feet) high and six meters (20 feet) long, with a single two-meter-long horn in the forehead. The animal may have weighed up to 5 tons. Its legs were longer than those of other rhinos and were designed for galloping, giving it a horse-like gait. It was probably a fast runner, in spite of its size. Its teeth were similar to those of horses, and it probably grazed low herbs.
