Does Yuji Sakai get strong and become able to fight in the anime: Shakugan no Shana

Not in the first season but in season 2 he is still training and getting better. The first 2 episodes are out now. They tell you that he has more power because of that blue haired girl back in season 1 then before and u see him use it in his training.

Before Shakugan no Shana Second, Yuji was a simple mistes targeted by Bal Masque and was back up / support only. Now we find out that his encounter with Hecate caused his power to grow somewhat close to a King of Guze's powers (power similar to Alastor). The only difference is that his power only acts with his survival skills, shown when Willhelmina got too serious in the training and almost kills Yuji and you see a giant burst of light. Alastor and Shana believe he has enough power to cast a Futetsu.
I don't see him as the fighter type like Shana but more like a mage type.
