The antis say that feminism is to blame for crime, poverty, gender identification confusion, destruction of family values, destruction of the institution of marriage, discrimination against men (in schools, family courts, the workforce, etc.)...the list goes on and on....and the last I heard somehow we're responsible for global warming......
Your thoughts?

Rio: please tell me your kidding? You know what's next don't you...if liberals started the holocaust (LOL) and are responsible for the gassing of the Kurds, next thing you'll be hearing is it's FEMINISTS that are responsible....after all, we're thought of as liberals, right? Jeez.......just when I thought I'd heard it all....!

The nazis honed the tactic of blaming others to perfection. If you watch Fox news you will also see a lot of blame flying around.
Blaming others is much easier than suggesting a workable solution to the problem. Especially a solution that can be made to work in a democracy made up of all kinds of free thinkers.
Finding a solution and compromising would be too democratic.

Of course there are problems that are not because of feminism but feminism as a whole, lacks the integrity to admit where it HAS caused problems, such as those you mentioned.
It is clear that feminism has either caused or greatly enhanced many of the social ills facing mankind today, especially in the so-called "free" world.
Feminism is a disaster for men, children and society as a whole. I don't blame feminists for trying to hide the defects of the movement, which are real and numerous.
If I were a feminist, I'd be ashamed too but then again, I have a bit of integrity, which disqualifies me from being a feminst.

Well that isnt every problem in the world, that are problems closely linked to fatherless homes. How can feminism NOT be blamed for the destruction of marriage ?

Damm I never thought to lump feminism in there. I can sum up the worlds problems real fast. Religious beliefs,Greed,The experts who claim to know how to fix things, prejudice against other races, taking responsibility away from our youth and propaganda! That pretty much covers why the world is going to hell in a hand basket! OH I am sure I will catch some slack for writing this! LOL But hmmm feminism never entered into the mix in my mind.

Men and women are created equal and are of equal dignity. Nature has provided different roles for the sexes.
In modern feminism there are beliefs and practices that are absolutely diabolical.
But I believe it is in the spiritual realm where the greatest harm is done.

Feminism is not responsible for any of those things you listed. It is responsible for shoddy attempts at empirical investigation, though. What ever happened to equity feminists, who would no more think Micheal Foucault, Jacques Derrida and Judith Butler coherent, than they would attack science?

I'm currently engaged in a debate with some fool who is trying to blame liberals for the Holocaust and Saddam's gassing of the Kurds. I guess anything can happen.

The War in Iraq is sure as heck the fault of the Bush Administration, and I don't think Condi thinks of herself as a feminist.

You covered a pretty good list. Thats enough of a list for now. Dont want too much or you may confuse the feminists on how they were the soul reason for whats on your list.

I have to say that I haven't heard much blame heaped on feminism outside of these forums. I've mostly lived in fairly liberal places though, so perhaps that's the reason.
