Rocio goes down by 10 per week so if the number off weeks is N then he has 150-10N. Ed goes up by 15 each week so after N weeks he has 25+15N. The two are equal at some time when
150-10N = 25+15N
That can be simplified to 150-25 = 10N+15N
That is 125 = 25N.
Divide both sides by 25 to get N=5 so the answer is 5 weeks.

x=number of weeks
Amount of money Rocio has: 150-10x
Amount of money Ed has: 25+15x
When are they equal? Set the two equations equal to each other:
150-10x=25+15x
125=25x
x=5
So after 5 weeks they'll be equal.

x = weeks
Rocio's money 150 - 10x
Ed's money 25 + 15x
150 - 10x = 25 + 15x
150 - 25 = 15x + 10x
125 = 25 x
5 = x
