If there is actual data saying that domestic violence is elevated on Super Bowl Sunday, I can sure think of a common sense reason why that might happen. Most super bowl games are accompanied with lots of food and lots of alcohol. If you have a lot more families with intoxicated members. violence is surely going to happen more often. Thats a given isn't it?
Personally, the only danger I fear from Super Bowl Sunday is that table of goodies to eat and how well it will look on me if I eat too much. But.... please don't take my Super Bowl away!

Doesnt that prove that some women just dont know when to shut up? I mean, if these women know they are in a situation where they could get hit, why wouldn't they be on their best behavior on that day? Why would anyone who lived in abusive relationship anger their partner on that day?
Now, don't get me wrong. I don't think that anyone should have to live in an abusive relationship, but face it, some of you do.
So, if you are in an abusive relationship, and you know it, and you chose not to leave, shut the hell up on Superbowl Sunday !!!
Its not sexist or demeaning, its common sense !! Its not a question of whats fair, its a question of defending yourself by anticipating the other persons actions and acting accordingly.

A lot of women sit and watch the Superbowl. So much so, that advertisers have become aware of it and started showing ads that are marketed to women during the broadcast.

That is totally ridiculous. What a few idiot women say does not reflect the opinion of all feminists. In spite of all the stereotyping that anti-feminists on here do.

LOL I have heard of that...turns out it's just a myth, an urban legend. That has been debunked, in other words.

I'd say this is more correlation than causation, so I don't see a need for it to be eliminated. It's hardly as if anyone is forced to watch it. But if it WAS eliminated, I wouldn't really mind. I hate football.

Aren't there a lot more drunk driving incidents then? That's something to steer clear of.
