And let's say (remember this is a hypothetical situation so I can add this piece to the story) you know that you're destined to be alone for the rest of your life.

You live your life normally except at home you have delusions; and you see and talk with a spouse and friends at home. Your spouse and friends aren't real but rather delusions (ie. A Beautiful Mind). However they make you feel like you feel like you're not alone and have loving relationships.

OMG!!! Next thing you'll start thinking people can sit down in front of their computers and log into some kind of giant global network and communicate and play with people all over the world.
Anyway, 1 is better because you are aware and can at least try to do something about it.

Im not as bad as No.1 but i do get lonely often. I have friends and i have family but they frustrate me and then i retreat. I think if it keeps going this way i will closer and closer to No.2..
As for which is worse im going to say No.1.. at least if you are No.2 you are happy.right ?

i'd say that #1 is worse
because you know that you're alone and rejected and everything--you could become really depressed, sad, suicidal whatever possibly
while in #2, even though you're delusional, at least you're happy in your own head

It's like those t-shirts say, I live in my own little world, they like me here.
1 would be worse. At least with #2 you (hopefully) wouldn't be aware that you were all alone.

first off its worse, since you are comparing two things here. sorry i had to. anyway the 2nd is worse. that means your delusional, and if your delusional that means the rejection youve faced is probably worse than the kinds you faced in the first situaton or it means that you can not handle rejection as well as you can in the first situation.

number 2 is worst to me because you have others involved that make you feel the same way as number 1.
