I just started my period today. But my boyfriend left because he was told to by my parents who dont want us here alone with eachother while they are gone. So he left and I pretty much started to cry. I am 18 years old, and I dont understand why it would upset me so much.

When we are menstruating anything can upset us. It's the hormones messin' with us. There's not much we can do about it. Although, they do say stay away from chocolate and caffeine because it does effect our hormones. But isn't that when we crave candy the most? Sure is! Don't worry - you are normal. Some months are okay and other are a real bit**!

well one reason you are crying is because of your period. Hormonal changes can play with your emotions even if your boyfriend didn't leave or your parents were not upset. periods have us crying for no reason and either eating lots of chocolate or having no appetite at all. Little things can make us more on edge at this time. Try to be aware of your feelings each month and you will be prepared to better understand what is happening at this time and learn to cope with the feelings that come up. Some girls like to retreat at this time and rest more so do what ever makes you feel more comfortable. Read good books and watch funny movies
exercise and watch your diet for these several days.Pamper

How old is your boyfriend?

You should go to his place, or somewhere else since your parents are telling you what to do at age 18.

Most likely it is just hormones around your period, I get that way too.

your probably just attached to him. i still do it sometimes when my husband leaves me. it could also mean your period may be starting or your stressed. also, im happy you decided to listen to your parents. im 19 and i wish i had listened to mine more often b/c i made some huge mistakes just because i thought i was mature. thank goodness your smarter than that.

Have you ever gotten emotional when you first started your period? Because I can almost guarantee you that that's what it is.
