For example, if a person is stabbed in the stomach then why cut off the bra too? Once the person is in the operating room then all the clothing is cut off? Why do they do that?

So they can have a perve- i think. I had a bad car accident a while back and the weekend before I had given myself a really bad incomplete brazillian. They cut all my clothes off including my undies and they were good clothes too. :o(

I was unconcious for about 2 weeks but my family told me my blankets kept being taken off exposing me and my bad brizillian. Why couldnt they just keep my undies on!!!!

This is done to prevent any moving of the person in order to cause any further injury. Until a complete physical examination is done to determine all the problems that the patient has every precaution has to be taken to treat the immediate problem and prevent anything else from happening.

The ER and EMT are live saving staff. Their role is to save your life and they will cut off the clothing to have direct access to the wound or injury area. The do not know if there is any back, neck, spine or other problems that are unknown or unseen.

This is purely precaution.

That's because they need to evalute the whole body when the patients cannot speak for themselves. They may see an open wound with blood dripping, but how do they know, unless they check, they may have a small but deep penetrating cut that is far more serious than open wound?

It's part of their training to not only focus on the obvious.

By the way, you mentioned bra. They are cut because they are constricting. When patient is already having problem breathing and/or they need to perform a CPR, they don't want anything that will prevent it from being effective.

Shirts and bras are removed on any patient with traumatic injury to check for and assure there aren't underlying injuries and in case the patient goes into cardiac arrest, constrict clothing can hinder CPR and rescue breathing efforts, also if you need to defibrilate the person the shirt and bra MUST be removed before you can, so we remove them early to save time in case the do go into arrest.

I understand this can make you uncomfortable, yet remember that he sees you as a affected individual. He sees victims body aspects each day, seeing you partly bare isn't sexual for him, that is in basic terms element of his interest. you're waiting to request that a lady nurse be contained in the room in the course of the time of the exam, or contained in the adventure that your mom or a sister can pass with you, she might want to be contained in the room too. you'll take care of to also attempt to come across a lady health care specialist if that would want to help. particular you're waiting to wish to instruct your concerns, study the placement you imagine you've and ask questions.

To allow them easy access to the body to assess any other possible injuries and in the event of a turn for the worse they are able to access the arteries and veins for needles and the chest, throat and mouth areas for resuscitation and defibrilation. It also allows them to move the clothing instead of you preventing further possible injuries.

Clothing has to be removed in any traumatic situations in the emergency room in order to access other injuries.

Modesty goes out the window when medical diagnosis is needed to save a life.

They need to see if there are any other injuries. A bleeding, passed out person isnt going to say "hey, and I have a cut here, and a mark there..."
