Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Kids are wonderful. I have four and they are my world.

There most likely is nothing to worry about. You're due date is usually give or take a couple weeks. With my oldest I was actually given 3 different due dates. He was born in the middle of the three.

If you remember your dr. asked you when the first day of your last cycle was. That is the day they figure your due date out by. However, that isn't necessarily the day you got pregnant.

Generally, if you haven't had the baby two weeks after your due date the dr. will go in and induce your labor. But it is nothing to worry about.

Good luck and again congratulations.

No, I wouldn't worry yet. Once you hit your due date you are considered full term, which means that your baby should be fully developed and healthy, ready to be born. However, due dates are an inexact science, and it's safe and healthy to deliver up to a week before or after your due date, longer if your OB determines that your due date was inaccurate to begin with. You probably have an appointment coming up within the week. Tell your OB of your concerns. He or she may decide to induce labor or wait a few more days, depending on what they feel is best for your baby and what you're most comfortable with. As long as the pregnancy is otherwise healthy, no complications, and you're not having any bleeding or severe pain, I wouldn't be worried.

If your due date was oct 14 you are probably closer to 10 mos since gestation is 40 weeks, and you are probably seeing your gyno at least once a week at this point if not every couple of days. He/She will inform you if there is any thing serious to worry about. Due dates are best guess estimates anyways, they can easily be off by a couple of days. Unless you have a high risk pregnancy, Hypertension, gestational diabetes, high blood pressure or some thing like that I wouldn't worry too much about it. Probably be here within the week. Congratulations and goodluck with your new one.

Don't be worried all babies come when THEY want. It is their way of showing you that life will never go as expected as a parent. Both my kids were late.
Just be reassured by the baby's movements.
My sone was due oct 15 last year, he came on the 20th.
My daughter was 15 days late.

Not at all. Make sure you keep all of your doctors appointments and keep your doctor clued in to all the symptoms you are feeling. Some doctors won't induce for up to 2 weeks past the due date. Don't worry, the baby will come soon enough! Good luck and congrats!

My son was two weeks late so they induced my labor two days in a row to no avail. The doctor decided to break my water, my son however was not really ready to come yet. Every time the nurse came to check how far I had dilated she would tell me how much hair he had then go oops he's gone. After four times of that I told her to quit touching the baby so that he would come out. And two hours later I had a healthy baby boy.

Moral to the story is they will come when they are ready not you.

Due dates are just "educated guesses". It is a usually within a week of the due date before or after that most babies are born. And don't think of it as late think of it as every day in the womb is one more day for your baby to mature.

No! As long as you feel fine I assure you nothing is wrong with your baby! I am sure you will go into labor any day now and everything will fine. Even if a week goes by and there are still no signs of your baby being ready to enter this world everything is fine! My mom was almost 3 weeks late with me and it didn't mean anything was wrong... I was just stubborn. Like I said, as long as you feel okay and you feel no problems with your baby, you should be okay! Best wishes!
