They are building a plant in Iran...what's are those 2 nations thinking. Who ever is the idiot who funds the money 1bil., must not be that smart. After the U.S. eventually blows the plant up then Putin will look stupid and Iran would look worse and whoever paid 1 billion dollars for a plant that lasted about 1 week must be killing himself...All that work for nothing.

Russia gets on the good side with Iran. Terrorism becomes solely a problem of the west. Russia gets a foothold in controlling Irani policies. If we blow it up, we risk war with a nuclear power. Russian influence will be great because Iran will fear alienating the Russians. The gamble is that with Russian involvement, the west will not attack in the first place. Russia will through leverage gained by the plant have control over Iran and disposition of their oil. Even if we blow up the plant, the Iranis will love the Russians for trying to help them. These are probably thoughts that crossed Putin's mind.

What's wrong with Russia building a nuclear power plant in Iran?. Putin's view is that Iran has the right to pursue nuclear technology for peaceful use. Any fair-thinking nation would agree with that. No nation on earth can deny another nation's right to use nuclear power for peaceful means.

Remember that last year, GW Bush also signed an agreement with India for free exchange of nuclear technology development between India and the US, much to the dismay of Pakistan who is also America's ally. How sure is the US that India wouldn't be using such nuclear technological know-how to further develop and improve India's nuclear weapons?.

Hi....

Sorry but Iran has every right to have nuclear power!

Its nuclear weapons that we/everyone are against them having...

As long as they don't try building nukes, there should be no problem!

Russia has interests in Iran, America could do nothing about a nuclear power plant being built, it has 'no' right to say who can and who cannot have nuclear power!

America has pointed the finger at the British Empire for dominating the World, yet does it herself, not on!!

Iran will have nuclear energy, by right, let us hope that it is not converted to weapon use...

That would be a completely different ball-game!!!

Putin is a desperate man. He can't deliver. He is on a sinking ship, and he is rattled. He is making bad decisions that will cost more than just his reputation. His dancing with the devil will cost Russia in the long run.

Iran is ran by radicals. Most of the free & civilized world sees this, regardless of how they see Bush. The world knows Bush will be leaving soon, but the hard line clerics that hold the Iranian Presidents strings, the real culprits, will remain pushing their radical ideologies.

Putin's actions tells me Putin is concerned about one thing....Putin. God help him. I think he is leading Russia right into hell.

Putin is there in iran to try to make the world afraid of him and iran. He is headed on a path of destruction, along with iran. we have nuclear weapons capable of eliminating both of them if necessary. we will not back down on our commitments to stop iran from having nuclear weapons. putin is the one supplying iran with nuclear technology, but iran has't paid them what is due. we will see what happens!!!!!!

Why not? Obviously both countries think it's worthwhile.

Why would the U.S. blow that up? That would be very stupid.

Oh. Oops. The U.S. IS a stupid country.

My bad.
