my friends parents are quite scary.
they dont trust him at all.
example: he was on the computor siting on the couch and he turned around and found his dad hunched over wacthing him .
abd his dad just got up and walked away.
his mom only lets him see his friends once a week or so.
he cant dress how he wants.
his bedroom door always has to be opened
for us to hang out my parents have to be home and wacthing us because im a girl'
he can never miss church, not even once.
he always has to go straight home after school
he can never cuss or sin
(but he does when they arent around)
if he ever complains about church they "spank him bare bottom"
he has to hide almost everything from them because almost everything he does is bad that what they think anyway
and they are mean to.
they yell at him if he asks to go to someones house or
wants to go to the store for something
and h cant beg
and if he asks why he cant do somethign they say they dont have to have a reason. i will fin

Remember this is your friends' problem, not yours. Listen to his comments, but don't give a lot of advice because his family elements aren't the same as yours and you don't have the ability to offer advice because you aren't part of the family dynamics.

As a parent, I can see that these parents may be perhaps a bit too strict, but then your friend may be exaggerating, too. They seem to be religious and following the Bible literally.

Your friend should: Find one of the on-line depression surveys and take it, honestly. If it shows a problem, have him give it to his parents and tell them that he needs to see a psychiatrist. If they don't react, he needs to take the survey to the school counselor. Family therapy may be warranted.

i don't know how old he is but his parents are pretty strict. just be a good friend to him.
