Yes 61 and younger even, I post "Seniors" because this also gets posted in "Cultures & Groups" who think this is posted in their group. That place deals with too much for me.

Although I haven't seen her in many years, I think the one
actress who was the epitomy of elegance, refinement and
good breeding, was the actress who appeared with Errol
Flynn in a few co starring roles when she was very young.
And that is Olivia de Haviland. She wasn't overly beautiful,
but still very attractive and such a lady. On screen as well as
off. She admitted to caring for Errol very much, and would
have married him. But he had a boyish way of teasing her
so often, that it took away from his masculine personna and
she grew to dislike it. He was however the constant gentle-
man to her, rather than the 'rake' some considered him to be.
Elizabeth Taylor has always been a favorite of mine as
well. She has always dressed so elegantly and perfectly
coifed. But she has been known not to be a lady in her
personal life as far as her language sometimes and drinking
habits. But on screen, she has a elegant appearance in
most of her film roles.
Honorable mention, I would give to Jane Seymour.

I'm 61; is that senior enough? In my lifetime, probably Grace Kelly. Elegance, however, is a thing of the past, particularly in the U.S. (Since you didn't ask, among men I would say either Cary Grant or Ronald Colman). To be fair, a Cate Blanchett might qualify.

Elegance -- Grace Kelly
Beauty --- Marilyn Monroe/Elizabeth Taylor
Best --- Bette Davis/Katherine Hepburn
1st runner up --- Barbara Stanwyk/Deborah Kerr
Today?
There is no elegance....closest would be Catherine Zeta Jones/Charisse Theron
Beauty --- The same two....others are too dam skinny.
Best --- hands down-Meryl Streep
1st runner up --- Gwynneth Paltrow - when she is playing adult parts in adult movies.

I think Lauren Bacall is absolutely beautiful, but for elegance I would have to go with Audrey Hepburn.
Did you notice they had the YOUNG Ann Margaret before she fell off that stage prop and needed total reconstructive surgery?

Helen Mirren is very elegant. But I always loved Maureen O'Hara and Katherine Hepburn. Meryl Streep is one my favorite as well as Charlize Theron.
