And the UK is not the only country where we drive on the left hand side of the road so right hand drive cars make sense. Apart from a few supercars the motorcycle works wonders as equally at home driving on either side of the road.

Yes. The drivers seat is on the right hand side and we drive on the left side of the road.

It is normal for the driving position to be on the offside of the vehicle.
Would you really want to drive in a position where your visibility of the road is restricted by driving from the nearside position?
Maybe you don't realise that in the UK we drive on the left, so the safe place to site the driver's seat is on the right of the car.

We consider driving on the left safer.But didnt America make a terrible mistake in the 20s when they failed to recognise that 240 volts is better than 120.

Yes. If it was on the left-hand side, you wouldn't be able to reach the controls (especially the pedals), and it'd be difficult to control the car. Also, it would mean that any passenger would be sitting behind the steering wheel, and might (accidentally) interfere with it. Yeah, we'll keep it on the right, thanks.

You should check out the history of why YOU drive on the wrong (dangerous) side of the road. Bye the way, do you ride a horse? What side do you get on from?
