You must make sure you select a tampon that is suitable for your flow level- this may take a little while to work out. If you try a light-flow tampon, I would suggest having a panty liner just in case it is not suitable for you.

With the whole 8 hour thing, it is suggested but obviously if you are heavier you may need to change more often etc.

If you accidentally leave it in longer than 8 hours, it wont kill you or anything, it will just allow the Toxic shock thing to grow or something(but only if you have the disease in your blood). I often leave mine longer by accident and it has never done anything- not suggested but just don't stress to much if you go over.

hi I got this from beinggirl.com

If you're asking if you can wear a tampon at night when you HAVE your period, the answer is yes! You may use a tampon during menstruation while sleeping if you sleep less than 8 hours. But, remember: A tampon needs to be changed every 8 hours. So, if you sleep more than 8 hours you should set an alarm to wake up and change your tampon, or else you should sleep with a pad

Change it about every three hours. DON'T WEAR IT TO BED!!!! use a pad. You arent supossed to feel the tampon in you, if you start to feel it your body's probobly telling you it's time to take it ou.(or at least for me) If you have a really heavy flow change or at least check more often. I would recoment useing just regular. But if its really light use light and if its really heavy use heavy or regular whatever you feel more cofortable with. DO NOT LEAVE IN FOR OVER 8 HOURS!!!!!!!!! Hope this helps!

You can wear a tampon to bed but you really should not have it in there longer than 6 hours due to risk of TSS.

Have you thought of using a menstrual cup? You can leave that in ALL night.
