When it comes to expanding my mind and learning more about my world, I like non-fic; but for the most part, I prefer to expand my creative mind with fiction. Lots and lots of fiction!

I like both. Strangely, I read a lot of non-fiction because I write fiction. It helps me research my stories and make them believable. I don't think either is less truthful than the other; they just tell different kinds of truths.
Non-fiction is fascinating because it really happened or because it explores the outside world. Fiction explores the inside world. Both can be entertaining, and the lines aren't as clear-cut as they used to be-- non-fiction today is more likely to have a narrative style, and creative non-fiction stands in the middle of the two.
I think I'd rather just read a great book, fact-based or not.
This would be a wonderful question for the "Books and Authors" Section.
