My computer is infested with a dozen malware. They all came in without my approval and pop up their ad every couple of minutes. Some of them are, Ultimate defender, safewebnavigate, yourprivacyguard, pcsecure system, etc. They all came during the last 2 weeks. I do have several security software already installed, like norton, McAffee, adware doctor and spyware killer.

Now my computer is almost non usable. What should I do, besides going to a repair shop ? Thanks

Currently the most effective way to remove spyware and adware infections is to use one of the many spyware protective software programs.
A good anti spyware/adware program will do 3 things that will clean your computer and then keep it clean. It will scan your computer to discover where the problem is, then it will run through and completely remove spyware from your system and then it will run on your computer in the background, defending you against future spyware attacks.

1. You have 2 anti-viruses installed. Uninstall Norton. Keep Mcafee.
2. Get rid of adaware doctor and spyware killer.
3. Download and run Ad-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy
4. Once you have gotten rid of the malware. Do the scans regularly.
Good luck.

IF you have another PC - pull the hard drive from the infected PC, put in in an external USB enclosure, copy your data to the other PC.

Next, return the hard drive to the old PC, find your original CDs to reinstall windows, then run windows setup, reformat the drive, reinstall windows, and then install antivirus, antispyware (make sure both provide realtime protection) and firewall before reconnecting the PC to the internet. As soon as you connect to the internet, update the antivirus and antispyware, then allow windows update to download all the updates it can from Microsoft.

These are tools I can recommend as reliable, having tested all of them within the last two months (I love my drive imaging software!)

firewall:

Comodo (http://www.comodo.com), or
PC Tools (http://www.pctools.com/firewall), though Comodo will be a bit easier to use.

antivirus:
Avira (http://www.free-av.com)
AVAST! Home (http://www.avast.com)
AVG (http://free.grisoft.com)
all provide realtime protection and automatic updates.

antispyware:

Spyware Terminator (http://www.SpywareTerminator.com) or
Spyware Doctor (http://pack.google.com)
either one will give you good, realtime protection, along with
Ad-Aware Free (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_a... and
Spybot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...
for additional removal ability.

Finally, a generic intrusion protection tool is a good supplement to the tools in the first three categories. The best one I've tested is System Safety Monitor Free edition (http://www.syssafety.com) which does a better job than most of the commercial intrusion prevention applications from major vendors.

For a start 2 virus programs conflict, probably reducing their efficiency by half. Download avg anti-spyware free from http://free.grisoft.com. Update it and scan the machine. Then scan for virus. Remove one or other virus program. Download the google toolbar for it's popup protection. Make sure your firewall is on.

wow, that sucks major balls... anyways i would just keep trying to get rid of the malware. if u really like your computer you should just keep trying. install something like spyware doctor or avg or spybot andjust keep running scans. if that doesn't do the job, search online for the viruses, they will explain what to do. ive been in ur position man...i got a mac

On a Mac, shift/control/3 takes a picture of the screen. If you press shift/control/4, you can click and drag over the area you want; the picture is taken when you release the mouse button.
