It seems like all they do now on a lot of these shows is talk about the 'psychology' of why people did this or that and 'OMG can you believe she said that' ! it's ridiculous!

Television and FCC media in general are for entertainment. The cast of characters are highly paid entertainment professionals.
The trends in news casts are avoiding the education and depth of coverage necessary to educate the audience. They keep the ball (story) in your face, so you won't be looking at the elephant! (What elephant?)
After martial law has been declared, many will miss that banter. Well, maybe not.

the news media types are not going to talk about the hard news because no matter how they report it some one gets their feelings hurt. it's a politically correct nightmare. just smile and nod.
