This is the first year I've tried Brussell Sprouts in my garden. We live in north central BC, and planted in the spring. My stalks are now full of them as big as the end of my thumb. We've had a few frosts already and are wondering if we pick them now or wait or what? Thanks in Advance
Mike

The small sprouts or buds form heads one to two inches in diameter. They may be picked (or cut) off the stem when they are firm and about one inch in size. The lower sprouts mature first. The lowermost leaves, if they have not been removed already, should be removed when the sprouts are harvested. Harvest sprouts before the leaves yellow.

Why do you prefer to attend. A plant does not do lots starting to be while it gets chilly. Even chilly hardy flowers will in uncomplicated terms tolerate some tiers of frost. At 5 below they'd --and that i rigidity would desire to be all outstanding. At 10 below they're going to in all probability freeze

They take a fair amount of frost, thankfully, as the frost lessens the "bite" in the buds. Harvest as size you want to eat them. I like them smaller, but it's up to you.
