I thumbs up an answer that I think is really good and actually answers the question, whether I agree with the answer or not. Just because I don't agree doesn't mean it isn't a good answer. I don't always star the questions that I give thumbs up to.

If I asked the question then I thumbs up all that ANSWER the question (to help boost points).
If I'm answering, I thumbs up the answers that I agree with and/or on the rare occasion that there's an answer exactly like mine (Instead of answering) I thumbs up their answer.

I give a thumbs up if I like the answer, no matter whose it is. Doesn't have to have anything to do with the question or who asked it other than it's an answer.
