Earlier today, as I was riding a bicycle back from the Army recruiters office, a woman ran a stop sign and hit me while I was crossing on my bike in the crosswalk. The woman has two children, and does not have insurance. If I would have called the police, she would have lost her children and gone to jail. My back hurt pretty bad immediately after the incident, but I could still walk and move around. As the day has gone by, the pain has got increasingly worse, to the point that I am seriously contemplating going to the E.R. now. (I am the kind of person that HATES doctors and hospitals, so yeah, it is THAT bad). What should I tell the doctor if I do end up going? Will I be in trouble for leaving the scene of the accident? Would there be any way that the woman could be liable for the bill which I definitely can not afford? I did write down the license plate number of the car, so the woman can be tracked down if need be... Did I do the right thing, or did I screw myself?

File a case of reckless imprudence resulting physical injuries against the woman who hit you so that any cost or damages will be paid to you.
