Taxes suck. Yes, it's a little more emotionally painful when you hate the government that's taking your money on moral grounds as well, but, really minimizing taxation is never a bad thing.
I do think it'd be very reasonable to let people vote with thier tax dollars. The technology to do it has been around for a couple of decades now. When you send in your tax return, you'd just bubble in some general spending categories (defense, overseas military action, welfare, art subsidies for blasphemers, science projects, paying off the national debt etc) that you want your money used in. The one's you don't bubble in get none of your money. A computer tabulates the totals for each general category, and Congress works within that budget.

It's a shame that you consider yourself a liberal. I would not want to align myself with a party that left America open to terrorism that Clinton could have stopped. And would you want to be proud of the nuclear issues started under Clinton with North Korea?
The Democrats are going to raise your taxes and lie to you while doing it. You need to do a lot more research.

I'm not sure that I entirely understand your question... Liberals go to war too. I think you might mean, "I'm a total pacifist...", and you might want to look into war tax resistance.

Who says it isn't right? If a war needs to be fought, we fight it. But don't for one minute think that any Conservative EVER wants to go to war...we simply have the b@!!s to do it when necessary!

You seem to be perceiving the situation correctly. The nation was conned into war by the Bush administration. They should've been impeached and/or jailed and/or tarred and feathered a long time ago (2005).
