I don't know when exactly i will return back home, so will this cause any security issues? remember i don't need a visa or anything, usually an EU citizen can stay in the US only 3 months. ( i do NOT have any special visa or anything like that)Thank you for all of you who answer.

If you do not need a visa, then I am assuming you are traveling to the United States under the visa waiver program (vwp). If you travel under the vwp then you are only permitted to stay in the States for 90 days or less and one of the conditions to enter the States under vwp is that you MUST hold a return or onward ticket.

This is stated on the American Embassy in Germany's website, which you can see below.

To enter the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program, you must have a roundtrip or onward ticket. See website below and read the paragraph titled," What do i need to have to enter the United States under the VWP?" You could apply for a B2 tourist visa. I do not believe you must have a return ticket for that visa as the website does not list that as a requirement.

I don't think so. I think that would be a big red flag for the airline, the TSA and immigration/customs. Why not ask when you buy your ticket is you can change your return date if needed?

Or, ask your embassy, I am sure that there is info online somewhere.

It might be a good idea to call the airlines and ask THEM!
