My friend told me that she gave oral sex for the first time and the guy that she gave it to didn't wear a condom and she didn't have any mouth guard/dental dam...She kept saying how it was safe and she wasn't going to get anything because he didn't ejaculate in her mouth [I know vulgar...Sorry! I've known the guy for a long time and he is a manwhore and has slept with lots of girls she knows this as well] But I think In fact I'm almost positive that isn't true. Am I right? If so what kind of diseases can she get? I tried to tell her but she's hard headed and thinks she's always right! [I KNOW this is in the P & S section but the STD section is deserted...No one will answer]

Many people engage in unprotected oral sex, and are particularly concerned with the risks associated with not using protection.

What are the risks:

Herpes is probably the biggest STD risk during oral sex. Both strains of herpes can live in the mouth or the genitals, and particularly during outbreaks (cold sores, herpes lesions) can be passed from one place to the other. Many people have oral herpes, more than 50% of a random group of people will have antibodies to the virus (indicating some level of infection). Having oral herpes for most people is no big deal, a cold sore during times of stress or illness is usually little more than an annoyance. Genital herpes can be more complicated and uncomfortable, but there are treatments (see Herpes Fact Sheet for more info). Care should be taken so that oral herpes are not passed to anyone’s genitals. In general it is not a good idea to have unprotected oral sex while any lesions are present.
Chlamydia and gonorrhea can infect your throat, strep like symptoms, and are curable with antibiotics. These can also infect the eye, and though rare, eye infections can have serious consequences, so be careful with fluids.
HIV can be passed through unprotected oral sex, but it is more likely to be passed during unprotected penetrative sex. The infected semen/precum or vaginal fluid must enter the body through a cut or sore in the mouth or esophagus. The virus is unlikely to be passed from a person’s mouth to another person’s genitals.
HPV can be passed during oral sex, but it is rare. HPV has been found on vocal chords.
Syphilis can be passed similar to HIV. Syphilis is curable.
Hepatitis A is a risk particularly in oral-anal sex, and people engaging in this unprotected might want to look into getting a Hep A vaccine. Hep A is not a chronic condition like Hep B and C, but can make a person quite sick several weeks.

Anything from the big Aids because any open area, even the smallest that exchanges fluids with a positive person can transmit the disease., to plain old herpes to any kind of STD out there. Jesus, she needs a brain Ct scan to see if she has one in her head. Tell her she is playing a serious game with her life and it isn't as instant as Russian Roulette. It takes years to die from many diseases and there is Hep. C too that is more deadly than the Aids Virus! She needs a serious talking to and a serious talk with herself.

Yes you can get an STD from oral sex, herpes being the main one.A lesser known fact that hiv can be passed this way also.If you have the smallest cut in your mouth or on your genitalia there is a risk of STDs.Sexual arousal produces fluid in small amounts on the genitals even before orgasm so it is still safer to perform oral sex while wearing protection!!!

Yes, yes and yes. She could get herpes, HIV can be passed this way and she can get gonorrhea in her throat too. There may be many others she could get, but these three I know for a fact.

It is very responsible to you to try to get this information to help your friend. The guy pulling out before ejaculating does NOT protect against these diseases.

It is possible to contract a lot of diseases if he is not wearing a condom if you have an open sore in your mouth or even if you just brushed your teeth a little hard and made your gums bleed.

My answer would be yes it is possible for her to get a disease, IF he had AIDs and had a small sore on himself and she had a small mouth sore she could be infected (blood to blood) There are lots of diseases out there, especially the risks would be higher on someone who has slept around.

First of all, yes you can get Herpes... it doesnt matter if he ejaculates in her mouth or not, so please for the guys sake let him... we hate spitters.... also wearing condoms during oral sucks... just make sure hes clean... nobody wears condoms for oral, and dental dams are for eating out someones as, not for oral sex

Yes, she can get any number of STDs from having any kind of unprotected sex.

If he has herpes, she can definately get that. Just because he didn't ejaculate doesn't mean that he didn't transfer any fluid to her. There is pre-ejaculate, and that is basically the same as ejculate.
