I have a pair of white shoes that are a little dirty. They are not leather they are some kind of fabric and I want to clean them but I don't know how. I tried taking them to a cleaners but no cleaners can do it so I was thinking maybe I could wash them in the washing machine with laundry detergent and bleach to get them really white again then letting them air dry. Will this work or is putting them in the washing machine a bad idea? Will the bleach turn them yellow instead of white? What should I do to get them clean and really white again?

Yes you can put them in the washer with soap and a color safe bleach, BUT do not let them go thru the whole cycle. Just the wash cycle and when the washer starts to spin out the water, remove them and finish rinsing in the kitchen sink and air dry. Remove laces (if any) and inner soles (if any) before washing. Do not wash alone. Add some towels or sheets to even out the load.

You can wash them in the washer on cold with detergeant plus 1/2 cup baking soda and then add 1/2 cup white vinegar in the cold rinse. Pull out the laces, open them up and set them in the sun to dry. If you bleach them you will ruin them. The baking soda will give them a really good scrubbing without harming them.

Can wash them first to get off stains then put them threw the wash machine.

Use La Totally Awesome Carpet Stain Remover and Stain Be Gone they together work every well for 1.00

Use color safe bleach this does not cause yellow spots.
