Kids should not be smoking, period. Any kid who smokes or drinks should be punished.

Teachers should not smoke in school either. It sets a bad example.

I don't think kids should be allowed to smoke in school. For one, most are too young, since the legal age to buy cigarettes is 18. Second, there are people there with health problems that are made worse by cigarette smoke, such as asthma. The people with the health problems shouldn't have to deal with smoking in school because if they're sick, then chances are, they aren't focused on learning. Third, schools are a place to receive an education. It's a well known fact that smoking is linked with several major illnesses and cancers. Allowing smoking would be contradicting any kind of teaching on maintaining good health.

As for articles, you might try posting this question under "homework help" in the education and reference section...people might be able to help you more there.

Good luck on your project.

If that is a private college, truly, they could do regardless of they opt for. Public college, you've recourse to due procedure. they could ought to specify very obviously the situations less than that you may want to be suspended and they'd properly be restricted in what they could do about your habit off college grounds. If I were your brother, i might want to ask even if the school's rules specifically ban smoking in that condition. If the rules say you won't be able to smoke on the bus provide up or contained in the school uniform, it really is one element, yet in the adventure that they don't, it style of feels unfair to penalize him suddenly. And if it became out that the regs did not say that yet they refused to boost the suspension, i can make it my organization to stroll round city in my uniform smoking like a chimney so as that all and multiple might want to verify, LOL. and performance someone tape it, and deliver it to the headmaster once i become wisely off in college.

I'm sorry I can't find any articles :-(! I looked though...
Personally, Smoking should NOT be allowed in public (or any) schools because smoking is proven to cause many health problems. If someone makes the choice to smoke why should everyone else be punished?

I don't think that kids should be allowed to smoke in schools. I am a smoker, and I still don't think so. However, at my alma mater, we weren't even allowed to have cigarettes or tobacco products on school grounds at any time, even if we were 18 and it was in our cars. I think this is wrong also. If you are able to buy cigarettes legally at age 18 there shouldn't be any limitations on where you can have those cigarettes. I don't think you should be able to smoke in schools because I honestly don't think i would have started if it wasn't for my friends doing so, and it would just make it worse if kids were allowed to smoke in schools.

No it should not. Every day I have to deal with people smoking at my community college. No one is allowed to smoke inside the buildings--thank god--but they do smoke out on the campus. On September 5th, 2007, smoking was banned everywhere on the campus, but everyone still smokes, regardless of the ban. There are so many men at my college who smoke, and it turns me right off. I keep away from the smokers, which is about half of the student body, so I don't inhale their smoke. You can get lung cancer from secondhand smoke. Smoking is a horrible habit and I never plan on starting.

NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!!!
Is that enough of an opinion!!! Smoking is ILLEGAL for anyone under the age of 18 so how in God's name could it be legal in public schools? It makes no sense at all!!!!!
I think smoking should be banned in all public places!!! I have horrific asthma and bronchitis and smoking definately does not do it good. I wouldn't mind if most smokers were more respectful of nonsmokers rights.
Plus, they litter and don't pick up their cigarette butts!! They should be fined for that!!! It is trash!!!
Another reason ~ it destroys their health!!!! It isn't good for anyone.

Smoking in schools isn't an issue, it isn't allowed in schools. Teachers smoking would be giving out secondhand smoke which is very bad. Kids smoking under age eighteen is illegal.
Because of the health risks, they won't debate the issue, it is not an issue.

No it should not be allowed.....my reasons:
1. You have to be 18 to smoke and most kids in school are younger than that.
2. Second hand smoke is gross and annoying
3. It encourages kids to smoke
4. They'll start disguising pot for cigarattes
