I'm disabled my husband is an acholoic. I want to get a divorce. can he make me pay half of the bills we owe with me disabled on social security. I also will have my 12 year old son with me. please help

When I got divorced my attorney asked for all the bills... All of the "marital" debt needed to be paid for before we could get divorced (half him and half me)... ..

So yeah, you can give it a whirl... see an attorney. Good luck. many will provide free consulation.

I'm not sure how a judge will handle this one. I would think that you are responsible for half, however, if your judge is compassionate you might be able to come to an agreement that will satisfy the judge and not break your budget.

you need to talk to an attorney. you may have to pay half the bills but I am sure you may be able to make reasonable payments or if they are in his name he may have to pay all of them. that is what you have to ask an attorney.

no one can touch your disability , my mom wanted a divorce and was told she could not touch his disability
