I am totally opposed.

I am also angry at Verizon and any other phone company/internet provider who gives out personal information to authorities without a warrant executed by a magistrate, with a proper probable cause statement.

What's happened to my rights? What's happened to our country? Free us from this Orwellian administration.

I don't now, nor did I ever, think that it is okay for the government to get any kind of personal information without a warrant issued with just cause and due process. That being said: DuBai controls much of the USA and is buying up the USA and I believe DuBai (with the help of Cheney) controls our government. It's already been proven by the 911 commission that some of the terrorists came to the USA via DuBai. The Patriot Act is a sham that DuBai wants so it can be sure to have all the information it needs about any American Citizen. Between China owning our debt and DuBai buying up the country and facilitating terrorist attacks, I doubt much that it matters what we want. The banks outsource our social security and other personal information to Manila, Phillippines with the Government's consent and full blessing. You will see more and more law-abiding citizens having their assets seized and/or spending time in jail because they are a threat to the pseudo government that is running the country. Do some research and see just how far-reaching the violations of our rights to privacy are.

I know everyone is in a tizzy since 9/11 and now that we have the Patriot Act, most Americans feel that the government is infringing on our rights. I have two comments on that. First of all, if you think the FBI did not do this pre-9/11 you are a fool. The government has always used "means necessary", they just now have a law that backs them in doing what they have done since the Bureau was created. Second, if you aren't doing anything, why would you care? I don't, let them bug my phone, my computer, I am a law abiding citizen with nothing to hide so the only ones who seem to have an issue with the Patriot Act are those who have some "skeletons".

They were doing it long before the Patriot Act ever came around. My Mom was in student government at her college in the late 1960s. She found out sometime in the late 1970s or early 1980s that the FBI had been following her and had a file made up on her. She said the file was pretty boring, but the clearly had followed her around for several weeks and she never knew about it.

It is OK unless it is done for political reasons like the Clintons did when they illegally collected over 1000 FBI files on selected people. It is amazing that some don't mind that but they mind looking for terrorists.

Whether you agree with it or not, it is possible because of the Patriot Act. Until it is repealed, this is how it will stay.
