FOR THE RECORD....

Theres a difference between varity and species.

Just becuase a guppy is label "....." or "...." doesnt make it a different species. There are over 100 patterns and finnage combos on guppies, but they are still all of the same species.

Same like most fishes... bettas for example. a veil tail betta is the same species as a halfmoon... betta splendens.... Now a different species is something like a crecent betta or betta IMBELLIS.

So fish varities are different than speices.

Anyway.... yes they can still breed as they are all still guppies.

Of cause its OK, its more than OK. And yes the male will try to mate with your female which can become a problem. its best to keep 1 Male with at least two Females that way the females can have a bit of a rest. the more different your guppy's the beautiful your fry will be. The has different names all over the wold which is probably why you think there is different species. PS. Guppy's breed like rabbits.

There is only one species of guppy. The different colors and patterns you see are only variations on the same species. All varieties will mate together (they aren't choosy!) but don't expect the fry to closely resemble their parents. Many of the traits you see are not fixed so expect a mishmash of color combinations.

Also, in the future, try to have more females than males. The high-quality fancy guppies are usually sold in trios (2 females to 1 male) because the males are tireless in their pursuit of the females. You don't want your females to be exhausted by this excessive attention.

Good luck!

There's only one specie of guppy. There are lots of varieties, but they're all one specie.

Yes, they will breed and I'm pretty sure they are not different species. Like goldfish, they are selectively bred for colors and fin styles.
