example: I work for a large company in a house for disabled individuals and we get paid for our hour lunch which means that we can not leave the house unless with a consumer or for other errends. Just recentely it was brought to our attention that we were not susposed to be eating fast food weather it be bringing it with us on shift or going to get it or ordering it beacuse it is "Not fair to the consumers and it is like telling them that their food is not good enough when we eat fast food around them". ALSO, we do not even have a seperate place in the home where we can even go to eat our food we have to eat in their kitchen (which is really not a problem)

If its a group home and you have to eat with the clients, Then its not good to bring things in from the outside that they can't get. It's not fair to the clients and sets a bad example. When I worked for Easter Seals with extremely challenged children. We ate what they ate. If we took them off campus it was OK to eat Fast Food if they could also have it. But other than that you need to be mindful of the example your setting for the clients.

Yes. These are not violations of your rights.

They're paying for your lunch break, for goodness sakes. And providing food. Do you have any idea how much money you can save by pocketing the $6.50 you would have spent on a daily Big Mac over a period of weeks?

$32.50 a week...

$162.50 a month...

$1950.00 a year...

I could use a two thousand dollar raise... I think you should count your blessings.

yes, since they are providing you with an alternative, it is legal. note that they are not limiting how you use your lunch hour - you could still go out to eat if you wished - they are just limiting the type of items you can bring onto their premises. this is not unlike a restaurant or retail establishment telling customers they cannot bring in outside food and drink.

Yes. It's legal for your employer to require that you not bring in fast food. And you can be fired for not complying with your employer's rules.
