Yes, the male is trying to mate with the female. He will be very persistent so, in order to encourage some peace for the female, you should add at least two more females (if your tank has the space and your system is properly cycled) so that none of them are exhausted by this tireless fellow. A single successful deposit of sperm by the male will lead to several batches of fry. The female's body stores the sperm in 'packets' in order to fertilize later batches of eggs. In other words, in 30 days or less you will have many baby guppies. Good luck! You should probably start shopping for your next aquarium so you will have a home for the little ones.

nicely, you have already got been given some stable solutions, yet I even have by no potential been waiting to repair this. I even have 4 lady guppies and a million male guppy and he nevertheless chases them. the only component i will think of of is to do away with him, so i'm giving him to my chum with a 29 gallon tank. After Luigi is long previous my lady guppies can finally relax and not could swim from him each and all the time. because you basically have been given them I guess you could desire to convey the boys lower back and get 2 greater women human beings. additionally, 5 gallons is plenty to small for 4 guppies. A 14 gallon tank could be a stable length for that many. I have been given my first 14 gallon kit for like $40 5 at walmart. It got here with a filter out and alot of alternative stuff. be happy to digital mail me in case you have the different questions. stable luck!!

usually yes, i hae platies and this is what they do and because they are related i would expect the mating routine to be close to the same, and by the way, make sure you have more females in the tank than males, about 5 to 1 or 6 to 1 works well, to prevent any of your females from being harrased and dying
