The only "real" value is what someone is willing to pay for it. If you get an appraisal for a baseball, and you insure it for that amount, you might be very unhappy to find out that a buyer will not pay that much. In the long run, the buyer is the one who determines the value, not the seller.

If you wish to insure it, you can pay a local dealer to give you an insurance appraisal, which will almost always be more than it would actually sell for.

You can get a general idea of the value by looking for similar items online (ebay, etc). Remember there are more collectables than there are buyers.

well this not just a thing or matter about how much your baseball costs. If you are fond of playing baseball and think it as your friend, it is costless. No one can buy it in the price of your happiness.

but if you just want to ell i to earn money, the price you get will not match the price of your hobby
