It's coming up. The test being worked on may predict Alzheimer's by up to 6 years before diagnosis.

My grandmother had it; it was depressing and awful. Would you want to know about yourself, if you could?

I would definitely take the test if it was a sure shot way of finding out about this decease. Alzheimer is also known as old people's decease. We are all getting older by the second. I am sure this condition just does not happen all of sudden. It moves in on your body slowly. So I would certainly want to know if I was likely to get it as I got older. It would certainly help me to plan things and make life easier for those who may have to take care of me when it happened. It sounds quite morbid to be thinking about this at a young age, but its a practical thing to do. I am terribly sorry about your grandma. I would not want to make my family go through that awful depression if I could help it by planning in advance.

Yes, I would definitely want to know if I was going to develop Alzheimer's so I could make plans accordingly.

I'm sorry about your grandmother. I know it is an awful disease. My mother is currently suffering from it.
